The Arms of MacKay of Ardoch, as set out in the Letters Patent from Lyon Court and in Burke’s Peerage, are as follows. The Petition was lodged in Lyon Court in the 600th year of the Barony of Ardoch.

Arms: Azure, on a chevron Argent between two bears’ heads couped of the Second, muzzled Gules in chief and a long-boat Or in base, a fox’s mask Gules between two hands grasping daggers, the points turned towards the fox’s mask all Proper. Above the Shield, behind which is draped his feudo-Baronial Mantle Gules, doubled of silk Argent, fur-edged of miniver and collar Ermine and fastened on the right shoulder by five spherical buttons Or, is placed a Chapeau Gules furred Ermine (in respect of his feudal Barony of Ardoch), thereon an Helm befitting his degree with a Mantling Azure

Crest: On a Wreath of the Liveries is set for Crest a demi-eagle wings expanded and inverted Proper issuing out of an antique Crown Or

Motto: In an Escrol over the same this Motto ‘CEARTAS NAN ABRICH’

Standard: For his Standard (as feudal Baron of Ardoch) four yards in length of four tracts Azure and Argent, split at the ends, having Azure a St Andrew’s Cross Argent in the hoist, his said Crest, a demi-eagle wings expanded and inverted Proper issuing out of an antique Crown Or, depicted thrice accompanied by the Motto ‘CEARTAS NAN ABRICH’ in letters Or upon two transverse bands Gules.
